In a recent update on the injured Lions tight end Sam LaPorta, there is a possibility that the Pro Bowl rookie could return to play in Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams.

LaPorta sustained a knee injury during Detroit's Week 18 win over the Vikings. Although he had to leave the sidelines on a cart, head coach Dan Campbell expressed optimism after the game, stating that the injury might not be as severe as initially feared. Campbell provided an update on LaPorta's status at the beginning of his press conference following Wednesday's practice.

When asked if a decision had been made regarding LaPorta's availability for the upcoming game, Campbell responded, "I don't know if we're quite there yet. He's improving. He was out there at walkthrough (on Wednesday)."

Regarding a timetable for determining whether the promising rookie would be able to face the Rams, Campbell remarked, "I don't foresee us knowing anything or feeling like we can have a real good picture until probably Friday afternoon."

The uncertainty surrounding LaPorta's status leaves the Lions waiting until the end of the week to make a final decision on his potential participation in the crucial game against the Rams. LaPorta's presence on the field would be a significant boost for the team, and fans eagerly await further updates on his condition.

Stay tuned for further developments as the Lions monitor LaPorta's progress and make a decision on whether he will be able to take the field on Sunday.
