The Detroit Lions are facing challenges on their offensive line as they prepare to take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football. The absence of two Pro Bowl linemen, Frank Ragnow and Jonah Jackson, in practice raises concerns about their availability for the upcoming game.

Ragnow, who has been battling a nagging toe injury throughout the season, now faces a calf injury that has caused him to miss consecutive days of practice. Despite his resilience in starting every game this season, his status for Monday's matchup is uncertain.

Jackson, on the other hand, has not practiced since injuring his ankle against the Carolina Panthers. It appears likely that he will miss his third consecutive game, further weakening the Lions' offensive line.

If Ragnow is unable to play, the Lions will likely rely on Graham Glasgow to fill the center position. This would require the team to find suitable replacements for the guard positions, potentially rotating Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Kayode Awosika, and Colby Sorsdal. Unfortunately, Vaitai is also dealing with a back injury, further complicating the situation.

In addition to the offensive line concerns, running back David Montgomery's absence from practice suggests that his availability for Monday night's game is in doubt. The continued absence of Montgomery, who is recovering from rib injury, makes it less likely that he will return until after the team's bye week.

Amidst these setbacks, the Lions received positive news with the return of linebacker/fullback Malcolm Rodriguez and defensive tackle Benito Jones to practice. Their presence provides a boost to the team's defense as they prepare for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Furthermore, there was an unexpected visitor at Lions' practice - C.J. Gardner-Johnson, the high-priced free agent who was expected to lead the team's secondary this season. Gardner-Johnson had been performing well in training camp and emerged as a vocal leader before a pectoral muscle injury in Week 2 required surgery. Despite the setback, he remains hopeful of returning to the field later this season.

As the Lions face the Raiders on Monday Night Football, their offensive line woes pose a significant challenge. With the status of Ragnow and Jackson uncertain, the team will have to adjust and find suitable replacements to protect quarterback Jared Goff.
