Multiple reports on Thursday indicate that Kliff Kingsbury, former head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, is expected to interview with the Chicago Bears for their offensive coordinator position.

After being let go by the Cardinals following a struggling 4-13 season, Kingsbury spent the 2023 season as a senior offensive analyst and quarterbacks coach at USC. This role has enabled him to establish a connection with one of the top quarterback prospects in the upcoming draft, Caleb Williams.

During his tenure with the Cardinals, Kingsbury amassed a record of 28-37-1 over four seasons. Although the team experienced some success in 2021 with an 11-6 record, their playoff run was cut short with a loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the wild-card round.

Despite the Cardinals' ability to reach the top 10 in yards gained on two occasions, they were unable to crack the top 10 in scoring during Kingsbury's tenure. Their closest achievement came in 2021, when they finished 11th in yards and 8th in points.

Considered as one of several candidates for the coveted offensive coordinator role in Chicago, Kingsbury will look to bring his offensive expertise to a Bears team that is seeking to revitalize their offensive strategy. The Bears recently parted ways with Luke Getsy, who served as their offensive coordinator for two seasons.

The upcoming interview presents an opportunity for Kingsbury to showcase his abilities and potentially make a return to the NFL, this time as an offensive coordinator. The outcome of the interview process will shed light on the direction the Bears plan to take to improve their offensive performance in the upcoming seasons.
