In a season riddled with ups and downs, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen's rushing capabilities have become a significant factor in close and important games. Despite running less frequently this season, Allen has managed to find success on the ground in four out of seven games decided by two scores or fewer in 2023.

The recent change at offensive coordinator for the Bills might just be the key to further unleashing Allen's rushing potential. Under Joe Brady's play-calling in his debut game, Allen executed three designed rushes in the first half, even before the game was out of hand in the convincing 32-6 victory over the New York Jets.

While it remains to be seen if this trend will continue, today's game against the Philadelphia Eagles holds immense significance for the Bills. Currently outside of the AFC playoff picture, Buffalo has little room for error for the remainder of the season.

Analyzing last week's game against the Eagles, it is evident that their defense prioritized stopping Patrick Mahomes through the air instead of on the ground. Mahomes managed to rush for 38 yards on six attempts. This defensive approach is likely to carry over to today's game, with Allen projected to have seven rush attempts in Philadelphia.

In other NFL news, Evan Engram has quietly emerged as a reliable target for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Engram has surpassed expectations throughout the season, leading the team with 59 catches in ten games.

With an average of 7.4 targets per game, Engram has become Trevor Lawrence's go-to option for high-percentage passes. Although his Average Depth of Target is only 4.4 yards, Engram's ability to convert these passes into receptions has been impressive.

Today, Engram faces a favorable matchup against the Houston Texans. The Texans defense has allowed an average of 9.4 targets per game and a 28.3% Target Share to tight ends, marking the highest in the NFL. In fact, seven tight ends have recorded a minimum of five receptions in the Texans' last eight games, including Engram's stellar seven-catch performance in Week 3.

After two challenging matchups where he managed four catches in each, today presents an excellent opportunity for Engram to bounce back. He is projected to have six catches for nearly 50 yards against the Texans.

As fans eagerly await today's crucial matchup between the Bills and the Eagles, all eyes will be on Josh Allen as he looks to utilize his running abilities in an effort to secure a much-needed victory for Buffalo. Simultaneously, Evan Engram aims to continue his productive season by capitalizing on a favorable matchup against the Texans.
