In their search for a defensive coordinator, the Jacksonville Jaguars have widened their net to include two more candidates from the Tennessee Titans coaching staff. According to Ben Arthur of Fox, the Jaguars will be interviewing Titans assistant coach Chris Harris and Titans defensive coordinator Shane Bowen for the coveted position.

This makes Harris and Bowen at least the sixth and seventh assistant coaches to be requested for an interview by the Jaguars. However, the Panthers have blocked the Jaguars' previous attempt to speak with Ejiro Evero, while the Falcons denied permission to interview Ryan Nielsen. The Jaguars are still hopeful of securing interviews with Ravens defensive passing game coordinator Chris Hewitt and Jets safeties coach Marquand Manuel.

Chris Harris, a former NFL safety, served as the Titans' defensive pass game coordinator and cornerbacks coach last season. Prior to his tenure with the Titans, he gained experience with the Chargers and the Bears. Harris also worked as the defensive backs coach for the Commanders in 2022.

On the other hand, Shane Bowen has spent the last three seasons as the Tennessee Titans' defensive coordinator. Before that, he served as their outside linebackers coach. Additionally, Bowen has previous experience as a defensive assistant with the Texans.

The Jaguars, under new head coach Urban Meyer, are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to find a suitable candidate for the defensive coordinator position. As they continue their extensive search, the interviews with Harris and Bowen will play a crucial role in determining the future of the Jaguars' defensive unit.

Stay tuned for further updates as the Jaguars move closer to finalizing their selection for this vital coaching role.
