In a tough blow for the Houston Texans, wide receiver Noah Brown has been placed on injured reserve, officially ending his season. Brown, who battled through multiple injuries throughout the year, played in 10 games and recorded 33 catches for 567 yards. With this latest setback, the Texans find themselves down another receiver, as Tank Dell has already been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a broken leg suffered in early December.

While veteran Robert Woods was limited in practice last week, he was able to take the field in the Wild Card game. However, the Texans still face concerns about their receiving corps' depth, with inexperienced players being called upon in the absence of Woods, Brown, and Dell.

One bright spot for Houston was the fully healthy performance of Nico Collins in their recent playoff game against the Cleveland Browns. Collins showcased his skills by hauling in six receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown. Additionally, John Metchie saw significant playing time in that game, but his regular-season numbers were modest, with just 16 receptions. Xavier Hutchinson, the third option behind Collins and Metchie, had a mere eight catches during the season. The Texans will heavily rely on these less-experienced receivers moving forward.

Injuries have been a recurring theme for the Texans throughout the playoffs. Prior to their Wild Card matchup against the Browns, the team had a total of nine players listed on their injury report, including Brown and Woods. Despite the concerns, the Texans only saw veteran defensive end Jerry Hughes miss the game.

The Texans' pass rush duo, Will Anderson and Jonathan Greenard, both dealt with ankle injuries and were listed as questionable leading up to the Wild Card game. However, after participating in limited practices on Thursday, they were cleared to play. The availability of Anderson, Greenard, and Hughes is crucial for Houston's defensive strategy and the protection of their secondary.

Linebacker Denzel Perryman also suffered a rib injury in the Browns game, but he is expected to be ready to take the field against the Ravens.

As the Texans prepare for their Divisional Round showdown with the Ravens, their first practice of the week on Tuesday will shed further light on the status of their injured players. The team and its fans will anxiously await updates on the health and availability of key personnel as they hope to overcome these obstacles and secure a playoff victory.
