Amari Niblack, a former tight end for the Alabama Crimson Tide, has made the decision to continue his college football career in the SEC.
The 6-foot-4, 233-pound athlete has chosen to follow in the footsteps of his teammate, Isaiah Bond, and commit to the Texas Longhorns. Niblack's move comes after a successful season with Alabama, where he recorded 20 catches for 327 yards and 4 touchdowns, including one against the Longhorns themselves.
This decision marks a significant loss for Alabama, as Niblack joins Jermaine Burton and Isaiah Bond as the top three receivers from the 2023 season to depart from the team. Burton, who is entering the 2024 NFL Draft, and Bond, who has committed to Texas, leave a void in Alabama's receiving corps.
Niblack's university career began in 2022, playing in 10 games and making one reception for 15 yards and a touchdown. As a highly regarded prospect, he earned a 4-star rating on the 247Sports Composite rankings. He was ranked as the No. 5 athlete and the No. 17 player in Florida in the 2022 class. Prior to his commitment to Alabama, Niblack had received offers from prominent schools including Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, FIU, Boston College, and others.
With Niblack's departure, Alabama's tight end room will now consist of CJ Dippre, Robbie Ouzts, and Danny Lewis. Additionally, the team recently witnessed the transfer of tight end Miles Kitselman to Tennessee.
As Niblack embarks on a new chapter with the Texas Longhorns, fans and analysts alike will be curious to see how he contributes to his new team and adjusts to his role in the SEC.
