In an extraordinary season, the Florida State Seminoles have affirmed their status as one of college football's top teams. With a record of 9-0 overall and 7-0 in the ACC, the Seminoles are experiencing their best season since 2014. Last week, they secured a convincing 24-7 victory against Pitt, exhibiting their prowess on both sides of the field.

Offensively, Florida State showcased their prowess by amassing an impressive 501 yards of total offense against Pitt. Equally noteworthy was their defensive display, holding the Panthers to an impressive 0-of-11 on 3rd-down conversions. In addition, the Seminoles clinched a season-high three takeaways, solidifying their defensive dominance.

Receiving national recognition, Florida State currently holds the No. 4 spot in this week's Associated Press poll. This marks the Seminoles' tenth consecutive week in the top-5, a feat not achieved since the 2013-2014 season when they remained in the top-5 for 27 consecutive polls.

The victory against Pitt extended their winning streak to an unmatched 15 games, making it the longest active streak in the ACC and the third-longest active streak in the country. Throughout this remarkable run, Florida State has demonstrated their offensive firepower, outscoring opponents by an astonishing 609-262.

A significant contributing factor to their unbeaten season has been their impeccable defense, with the Seminoles holding every opponent below 30 points. This impressive feat has enabled them to maintain the longest active streak in the ACC and the fourth-longest active streak in the nation. The last time they held at least nine consecutive opponents to fewer than 30 points was during their 12-game streak in 2015.

Notably, Florida State boasts one of the country's most formidable pass defenses. They currently lead the nation in opponent completion percentage, allowing just 48.4% of passes to be completed. The Seminoles' defense has also excelled in limiting passing touchdowns, ranking first in the nation with a mere four allowed. Additionally, their opponent passer rating of 101.68 places them at an impressive fourth in the country.

An interesting statistic is that alongside Ohio State, Florida State is one of only two teams in the nation to force more incompletions than allowed completions, demonstrating their proficiency in disrupting opposing quarterbacks. The last time a Power 5 team held their opponents below a 50% completion rate for a season was in 2018, making Florida State's defensive achievements even more commendable.

In the month of October, Florida State continued to display their defensive dominance. They were the only team in the nation that did not allow a passing touchdown throughout the month. Additionally, they led the country in opponent completion percentage, yards per pass allowed, and opponent passer rating. Their exceptional defensive performance during October propelled them to have the best scoring defense in the ACC, ranking 10th nationally with an average of just 14.0 points allowed per game.

Alongside their defensive excellence, the Seminoles have shown proficiency on the offensive end. Florida State currently leads the ACC in fewest interceptions thrown and fewest turnovers, highlighting their careful ball control. Their scoring ability has also been on display, averaging an impressive 39.6 points per game, ranking ninth nationally. Passing efficiency has been another strong suit, with a rating of 162.68, placing them 11th in the nation. Furthermore, their offensive line has exhibited strong protection, allowing the 26th-fewest tackles for loss per game in the country.

The Seminoles' depth and versatility have been evident in their balanced offensive production. In fact, Florida State is one of only 12 teams nationwide to have a receiver and a rusher record a three-touchdown game this season. Keon Coleman's remarkable performance against No. 5 LSU included a career-high three touchdown catches, while Trey Benson matched his single-game career-high with three rushing touchdowns against Southern Miss.

Florida State's red zone defense has also been formidable, currently ranking 16th nationally. They have limited opponents to points on just 74.1% of drives that reach the 20-yard line, and their touchdown conversion rate of 44.4% is the thirteenth-best in the country.

In terms of defensive resilience, the Seminoles have displayed exceptional composure under pressure. Throughout the season, they have faced 50 plays inside their 10-yard line, conceding a mere 12 touchdowns. In their monumental victory against No. 5 LSU, Florida State faced a challenging 10 snaps inside their own 5-yard line and allowed only two scores. The defense's remarkable 13-yard sack on a crucial fourth-and-1 prevented LSU from capitalizing on their early drives. Even during their three-game homestand, the Seminoles faced only 10 total snaps inside their 10-yard line and allowed just one touchdown. Syracuse did not have a single snap inside the 10-yard line and registered only one play inside FSU's 15-yard line.

As the Seminoles continue their outstanding season, their exceptional performance both offensively and defensively has solidified their status as one of the top teams in the nation. With their dominant winning streak, impressive defensive achievements, and productive offense, Florida State has firmly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in college football.
