Atlanta Falcons coach Arthur Smith has brushed off the NFL's inquiry into running back Bijan Robinson's injury status, injury reporting, and usage during Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to ESPN.com, Smith stated that he has not given any thought to the matter and believes there is nothing of significance to warrant the investigation.

This comes after a source informed ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday that the NFL had initiated an inquiry following Robinson's limited playing time during the Falcons' 16-13 victory. Despite playing just 11 snaps and carrying the ball only once for three yards, Smith expressed his belief that the situation has been unnecessarily sensationalized.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Coach Smith dismissed the notion of any wrongdoing, stating, "If you really understand how things really operate, that there's nothing, there's nothing there." Smith further mentioned that Robinson, who has had a productive season with 404 rushing yards and 189 receiving yards thus far, will participate in practice on Wednesday.

Robinson himself shared that he had started feeling unwell on Saturday night and continued to experience headaches on Sunday. However, he was not subjected to a COVID-19 test or a concussion evaluation. Despite not feeling 100%, Robinson insisted on playing and took part in primarily passing plays, but did not receive any targets during the game against the Buccaneers.

Following Sunday's match, Coach Smith stated that the team wanted to exercise caution with Robinson's health. When asked if he had spoken to the league regarding the inquiry, Smith declined to provide an answer, instead redirecting the focus to the upcoming game against the Tennessee Titans.

The Falcons' coach seems confident that all actions have been transparent, emphasizing that the team's priority is preparing for their upcoming matchup. As the investigation unfolds, it remains to be seen whether the NFL's inquiry will uncover any substantial concerns or validate Coach Smith's assertion that there is nothing of importance to address.
