The Cleveland Browns clinched an exhilarating 39-38 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, but concerns loom over the injury sustained by star quarterback Deshaun Watson during the game.

Watson's exit from the field occurred in the first quarter, following a forceful contact that caused his head to hit the turf after an incomplete pass. Although he got up and initially favored his right shoulder, Watson did not return to the game. He was immediately taken to the medical tent on the sideline for evaluation.

Speaking to reporters, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski revealed that he decided to keep Watson out of the game, despite the quarterback being cleared after a concussion evaluation. Undertaking a cautious approach, Stefanski explained, "I wanted to protect our franchise quarterback."

Watson, known for his competitive spirit, expressed his desire to reenter the game but acknowledged and accepted the decision made for the team's benefit. "I want to go out there and try to help the team as much as possible. Go out there and play and perform and compete," Watson stated. The quarterback commended backup QB PJ Walker for his exceptional performance in finishing the game.

Sunday marked Watson's return to the field after being sidelined for several weeks due to a right shoulder injury. However, his time on the field was cut short as he completed only one pass for 5 yards, with a single interception, before exiting the game as a precautionary measure.

Coach Stefanski reassured reporters that Watson is expected to start in the upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks, firmly asserting, "He's our starter in Seattle. It will always be my decision to protect our players."

Stepping in for Watson, PJ Walker made an immediate impact, capitalizing on a fumble recovery by the Browns defense on the Colts' subsequent possession. Trailing 14-7, Walker orchestrated a five-play, 36-yard touchdown drive, leveling the score at 14.

At that point, the Browns announced that Watson had been cleared, but he remained on the sideline with Walker leading the offense. The team did not provide any additional explanation for Watson's absence during the game.

Walker, though not posting impressive statistics, proved vital in the Browns' triumph, as the team recorded a season-high of 39 points. The veteran QB completed 15 of 32 passes for 178 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception. However, he played a crucial role in engineering a 12-play, 80-yard game-winning drive, which propelled the Browns ahead with just 19 seconds remaining on the clock.

The Browns will undoubtedly be hoping for a swift recovery for their star quarterback as they prepare to face the Seattle Seahawks in their next matchup. The outcome of Watson's injury will significantly impact the team's aspirations for continued success this season.
