Dak Prescott, Khalil Mack, and Maxx Crosby have been named among the 32 nominees for the ninth annual Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award in the NFL. The award recognizes players who demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship on the field and was created in 2014 to honor the late Art Rooney Sr., founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pro Football Hall of Famer.

Each NFL team has nominated one player for the award, highlighting individuals who exemplify fairness, respect, integrity, commitment to team, and resiliency. The nominees were selected by a panel consisting of former players, including Warrick Dunn, Larry Fitzgerald, Curtis Martin, and Leonard Wheeler.

From the list of nominees, a group of eight finalists will be chosen, with four representing each conference. These finalists will be listed on the Pro Bowl ballot under the NFL Sportsmanship Award category. The final winner will be determined through a consensus vote from players across all teams, excluding their own teammates. The winner of the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award will be announced at NFL Honors and will receive a $25,000 donation from the NFL Foundation for a charity of their choice.

Troy Vincent, the NFL's executive vice president of football operations, emphasized the significance of sportsmanship in the game, stating, "Sportsmanship is the core of the game, the vanguard of public confidence, the keeper of game integrity." He also commended the Rooney Sportsmanship Award nominees for embodying the values of fair play, respect, integrity, commitment to team, and resiliency at the highest level of competition.

Dak Prescott, quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, has been a standout performer both on and off the field throughout his career. Khalil Mack, the three-time All-Pro edge rusher, has consistently displayed sportsmanship and leadership during his tenure with the Chicago Bears. Maxx Crosby, the two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher for the Las Vegas Raiders, has earned respect for his dedication and competitive spirit.

As the race for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award progresses, football fans will eagerly await the announcement of the eight finalists and eventually, the deserving winner who will add their name to the prestigious list of past honorees.
