The Dallas Cowboys have received a significant boost in terms of health as they prepare to face off against the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card playoff game this Sunday. With only one player on the injury report, the Cowboys are as healthy as they can possibly be for this crucial matchup.
Backup quarterback Cooper Rush has been added to the team's practice report, listed as questionable due to an illness. Rush did not participate in Friday's practice session. Despite his limited playing time of 69 snaps this season, his availability for Sunday's game remains uncertain.
Meanwhile, defensive end Dorance Armstrong, defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins, and safety Malik Hooker are all expected to suit up for the Cowboys after dealing with ankle issues. The trio's participation in practice indicates that they are good to go for the playoff clash.
Cornerback Stephon Gilmore, who suffered a shoulder injury, has been able to have limited practices for the second consecutive day. Although he will wear a harness to protect his dislocated shoulder, Gilmore is expected to take the field and contribute to the Cowboys' defensive efforts against the Packers.
Additionally, left guard Tyler Smith, who missed Week 18 due to a foot injury, will make his return to the lineup. Smith had a full practice on Friday, further indicating his readiness to make a significant contribution to the Cowboys' offensive line.
It is worth noting that rookie quarterback Trey Lance remains the team's third-string option, providing depth and support from the sidelines if necessary throughout the playoffs.
With a near full-strength roster, the Cowboys will hope that their healthy lineup can deliver the performance needed to secure a victory against the Packers and advance to the next round of the playoffs.
