After the Dallas Cowboys suffered a disappointing loss in their first playoff game, defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is now set to interview with several teams in the hunt for head coaches. Despite the speculation surrounding a potential coaching change in Dallas, it appears Quinn's place on interview schedules around the league remains unaffected.
According to Albert Breer of SI.com, Quinn has scheduled interviews with the Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans on Wednesday, followed by an interview with the Washington Commanders on Thursday, and the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday. While there has been talk of interest from the Seattle Seahawks, no meeting has been scheduled with them at this point.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all of these interviews will be conducted remotely, as in-person interviews are not permitted until after the divisional round of the playoffs. Although Quinn had hoped to advance to that stage as a coach with the Cowboys, he now finds himself vying for a second head coaching opportunity.
Quinn's first playoff game with the Cowboys did not go as planned, with the team falling behind 27-0 and ultimately suffering a 48-32 defeat at home. This loss has fueled speculation about potential changes within the coaching staff, but it has not impacted Quinn's candidacy for head coaching positions elsewhere.
The Panthers, Titans, Commanders, and Chargers have evidently recognized Quinn's potential and are eager to engage with him in the interview process. These interviews will provide Quinn with an opportunity to showcase his skills, leadership, and strategic vision, as he aims to secure a new head coaching role within the NFL.
As the interviews take place remotely, Quinn will have to make the most of the digital platforms to make his case for each team. It remains to be seen which team will ultimately offer him a second chance to lead as a head coach in the NFL, but Quinn's experiences and track record with the Cowboys and previously with the Atlanta Falcons could make him an attractive candidate.
As Quinn embarks on this crucial phase of the interview process, football fans and analysts are eagerly awaiting the outcome, eager to see where his next coaching venture will take him.
