LOS ANGELES -- The Cleveland Browns will face the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday with their fourth different starting quarterback of the season. Veteran passer Joe Flacco, who joined the team in November, will be taking over the reins under center.

Flacco, 38, will be replacing rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who suffered a concussion in last week's game against the Denver Broncos and remains in the concussion protocol. Thompson-Robinson has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game, making way for Flacco to make the start.

The Browns had already been without their starting quarterback Deshaun Watson who underwent season-ending shoulder surgery last month. In Watson's absence, PJ Walker started two games this season and will provide backup for Flacco on Sunday.

Additionally, the Browns will be missing Pro Bowl cornerback Denzel Ward for the second consecutive game due to a shoulder injury. However, defensive end Myles Garrett, who was dealing with a shoulder issue, is set to play.

Flacco, who was the Super Bowl MVP during the 2012 season with the Baltimore Ravens, signed with the Browns on November 20, just one week after Watson's injury. Coach Kevin Stefanski had high praise for Flacco's professionalism, describing him as a reliable pro who approaches his job with intelligence.

For Flacco, the opportunity to start again is filled with excitement, especially after being an unsigned free agent during the first half of the season. Throughout his career, Flacco has accumulated impressive stats, throwing for 42,320 yards and 232 touchdowns.

Interestingly, Flacco's last four touchdown passes came against the Browns in Week 2 of the previous season, when he led the New York Jets to an improbable 31-30 comeback victory. His game-winning touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson sealed the win with just 22 seconds remaining.

Browns players and coaches have been impressed with Flacco's performance in practice this week, as he took snaps with the first-team offense for the first time. The last time the Browns started four different quarterbacks in a season was in 2008 and 1988, but winning with all four has been an elusive feat for Cleveland.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, the last NFL team to have four different starting quarterbacks win a game in a single season was the 2015 Houston Texans. Other teams that have achieved this feat include the Buffalo Bills in 1961, the New England Patriots in 1987, 1988, and 1989, the New Orleans Saints in 1998, and the Carolina Panthers in 2007.

In other Browns news, wide receiver Michael Woods II has been suspended for the final six games of the season for a violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy. Woods, a sixth-round pick last year, has been absent from the team all season due to an Achilles injury.

As the Browns prepare to face the Rams, all eyes will be on Joe Flacco as he looks to make a mark as the team's fourth starting quarterback this season.
