The Cincinnati Bengals have been cleared of any violation of the NFL's injury policy after quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending injury in Week 11, league sources have confirmed to ESPN. This confirmation comes as the NFL concludes its investigation into why Burrow was not listed on the injury report leading up to the game against the Baltimore Ravens on November 16th.

The investigation was initiated following a social media post by the team, which showed Burrow wearing a compression sleeve on his right hand as he disembarked from the team plane in Baltimore. However, the post was later deleted, adding to the scrutiny surrounding the situation.

During the game against the Ravens, Burrow suffered a torn ligament in his right wrist, an injury he believed happened while making a touchdown throw to running back Joe Mixon. This occurred just after Burrow was hit by Ravens defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. After the game, Bengals coach Zac Taylor and players expressed their unawareness of any pre-existing wrist injury that Burrow may have been dealing with.

On November 17th, Coach Taylor announced that Burrow would miss the remainder of the season due to an acute injury caused by the hit from Clowney. Both Burrow and Taylor emphasized that this injury was unrelated to the compression sleeve.

Following his injury, Burrow underwent successful surgery on November 27th to repair the torn ligament. He has since been present with the team as he embarks on his recovery journey.

The recent determination by the NFL that the Bengals did not violate any injury protocol was first reported by CBS. As the investigation reaches its conclusion, the Bengals can now shift their focus towards providing support for their injured quarterback and planning for the future.

As the Bengals look to navigate the rest of the season without their star quarterback, the team's management and coaching staff will be reviewing their protocols to ensure proper adherence to all NFL injury policies moving forward. The health and safety of the players will remain a top priority as the Bengals work towards a successful future.
