In an effort to address the ongoing quarterback dilemma that has plagued the Atlanta Falcons, the team's new offensive coordinator, Zac Robinson, has expressed that "all options are on the table" for the upcoming 2024 season. Following the departure of former head coach Arthur Smith, the Falcons are now under the leadership of head coach Raheem Morris and Robinson, who is tasked with finding the best signal-caller to lead the team.

Robinson brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having started his coaching career as an assistant QB coach for the Los Angeles Rams under the guidance of Sean McVay in 2019. He then spent the past two seasons as the pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Matthew Stafford. With his diverse background, Robinson emphasized that they are not restricted to a specific type of quarterback but are instead focused on finding the best player who can effectively move the chains and contribute to the team's success.

While evaluating all available options, Robinson specifically mentioned the evaluation of current quarterbacks Taylor Heinicke and Desmond Ridder, both of whom remain under contract. Additionally, third-stringer Logan Woodside is a restricted free agent. The Falcons have the opportunity to save $6.96 million on the salary cap by releasing Heinicke, with $2 million in dead money. Ridder, a 2022 third-round pick, is set to earn $985,000 in base salary in the third year of his rookie contract.

Considering the struggles faced by the current incumbents, it is clear that the Falcons are actively seeking fresh talent to take charge of the quarterback position. As a result, Atlanta is expected to be linked to various potential options, ranging from veteran free agents like Kirk Cousins to trade possibilities such as Justin Fields. There have even been discussions about the Falcons potentially trading up from their current No. 8 overall draft position to secure a top-three selection.

As the offseason progresses, the topic of finding a solution at the quarterback position will undoubtedly dominate the headlines, and the Falcons will certainly be at the forefront of those discussions. With the team in a state of transition and uncertainty, the quarterback search will be closely scrutinized, as Atlanta looks to make the best decision possible to fill the most vital position in the sport.
