As the 2023 NFL season reaches its midpoint, analysts have revised their preseason playoff predictions. With the betting odds provided by Caesars Sportsbook, the updated projections highlight the current state of each division and potential wild-card contenders.

In the AFC East, the Buffalo Bills are leading the pack, with odds of +250 and the support of six analysts - Frazier, Gonzales, Magdziuk, Reuter, Ross, and Zierlein. Despite their flaws, the Miami Dolphins remain in the race, as their explosive offense under Mike McDaniel and the expected return of rookie De'Von Achane could reshape their season. Notably, star defender Jalen Ramsey has already solidified the Dolphins' secondary. The Dolphins' true test awaits them in the final three weeks against Dallas, Baltimore, and Buffalo.

Over in the AFC North, the Cincinnati Bengals (+300) have been favored by three analysts - Filice, Gonzales, and Kownack. However, Chad Reuter selects the Baltimore Ravens as the team to beat in the division. The Ravens' well-rounded form has made them a formidable opponent, with Lamar Jackson shining alongside rookie receiver Zay Flowers. Additionally, the Ravens' defense has been stifling, allowing a league-low of 124 points through nine games.

The AFC South has seen an interesting prediction, with the Houston Texans (+575) gaining one vote from Carr. Despite their low odds, Keegan Abdoo chooses to put his faith in the Jacksonville Jaguars, considering their potential for improvement in the second half of the season. Doug Pederson and Trevor Lawrence are expected to address the team's costly mistakes and red zone struggles. Combining a more consistent offense with a surprisingly strong defense, the Jaguars aim to hold off challenges from the Texans and Colts for the AFC South crown.

In the AFC West, the Kansas City Chiefs remain dominant, with the odds favoring them at -250. Michelle Magdziuk's pick aligns with their track record of success, as they have won the division title for the past seven seasons. The lack of significant pressure from other teams in the division further solidifies the Chiefs' position as the team to beat.

Looking beyond the divisions, analysts were asked to predict the wild-card teams from each conference. The AFC's fifth seed received 15 votes, indicating a strong consensus among analysts. The sixth seed garnered eight votes, while the seventh seed received one vote, highlighting the division among analysts' projections.

Ultimately, these updated predictions provide football fans with insights into the current standings and potential outcomes for the highly competitive 2023 NFL season. As teams continue to battle it out on the field, only time will tell if these projections hold true or if unexpected surprises await in the quest for the playoffs.
