"Producers Guild of America Announces Nominations for 2024 PGA Awards"

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) has unveiled its list of nominees for the upcoming 35th annual PGA Awards. Known as a strong indicator of the Best Picture Oscar race, the prestigious Darryl F. Zanuck Award includes top contenders such as "Killers of the Flower Moon," "American Fiction," and "Maestro," among others.

In the animated category, films that captured nominations include "The Boy and the Heron," "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem," and "Elemental." These films have exhibited exceptional storytelling and artistic excellence in the realm of animation.

Turning towards television, the drama category showcases standout series like "The Crown," "The Last of Us," and "Succession," all vying for the Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television. Meanwhile, in the comedy category, "Only Murders in the Building" has secured a nomination for the Danny Thomas Award, alongside shows like "Barry" and "Ted Lasso."

In the realm of limited series, the David L. Wolper Award will be contested by acclaimed shows such as "Daisy Jones & The Six," "Fargo," and "Lessons in Chemistry." These gripping narratives have captivated audiences with their compelling storytelling and exceptional production quality.

The Producers Guild also announced its nominees in various other categories earlier this year. Notable mentions include "Squid Game: The Challenge" in the game and competition television category, "Black Mirror: Beyond the Sea" and "Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie" in the televised or streamed motion pictures category, and "Albert Brooks: Defending My Life" and "Being Mary Tyler Moore" in the non-fiction television category.

Furthermore, the guild unveiled its documentary nominees, including renowned features like "American Symphony" and "Beyond Utopia," while also recognizing the achievements of industry legends. Acclaimed filmmaker Martin Scorsese is set to receive the David O. Selznick Achievement Award, and Charles D. King will be honored with the Milestone Award.

The highly anticipated 35th annual Producers Guild Awards is scheduled to take place on February 25 at The Ray Dolby Ballroom, Ovation Hollywood at Hollywood and Highland. Winners from the sports, children's, and short form categories, announced in December, will also be honored during the ceremony.

As the industry's leading recognition of excellence in film and television production, the PGA Awards serve as a precursor to the prestigious Academy Awards, often showcasing the films and series that go on to win the prestigious Oscars.

With the announcement of these nominees, anticipation is running high as viewers eagerly await the unveiling of the winners at the 35th annual Producers Guild Awards.
