Real estate agent, Sean Palmieri, known for his appearances on the hit Netflix series "Selling the OC," has made a significant career move. In an exclusive statement to ET, Palmieri revealed that he is bidding farewell to the Oppenheim Group and embarking on a new chapter with a dynamic team and mentor, Steve Games, the previous owner of Prudential California Realty and Pacific Sotheby's International Realty. The team has recently launched with Coldwell Banker West.
Palmieri explained, "Unfortunately, the Oppenheim Group was not a culture fit for me and I'm really excited for the future as I just signed as a partner with an amazing, top-producing team and mentor, Steve Games."
Returning to the serene atmosphere of San Diego County, where Palmieri initially ventured from Florida to California, he expressed his joy at embracing new opportunities and success in this vibrant community. His bold decision to switch brokerages highlights his determination to prioritize his business growth and client satisfaction.
The announcement from Palmieri comes in the wake of the surprise release of a first look at the third season of "Selling the OC," which was unveiled during the season 7 reunion special of its sister show, "Selling Sunset." In a notable absence, Palmieri did not attend the taping, while his co-stars Alex Hall, Polly Brindle, Gio Helou, and Brandi Marshall were present. It appears that Palmieri's dramatic clashes with his castmates, particularly Austin Victoria, may have contributed to his decision to depart from the Oppenheim Group, citing "culture fit" issues.
During an August interview with ET, prior to the launch of season 2, Palmieri provided a glimpse into what viewers can expect from season 3, teasing "double listings, double drama." He also shared some insights gained from filming two consecutive seasons.
As for Palmieri's future on "Selling the OC," it remains uncertain. Netflix has yet to renew the series for any seasons beyond the upcoming third season. Palmieri emphasized that his decision to change brokerages was purely a "business move," and he is eager to embrace this new opportunity.
Palmieri is now the second Orange County agent to part ways with the Oppenheim Group this year, following Tyler Stanaland's departure in October. Stanaland shared his own statement, noting that joining Douglas Elliman along with his father and brother is the right decision for him and his clients. He expressed excitement about aligning with a brand that holds unparalleled reach and influence in the market, boasting a renowned network of agents and industry leaders.
Fans can currently stream seasons 1 and 2 of "Selling the OC" on Netflix, while season 3 is slated for a premiere in the coming year.
ET has reached out to Jason Oppenheim, broker and owner of the Oppenheim Group, for his comments on Palmieri's departure, but a response has not yet been received.
