In an exclusive report by Variety, it has been announced that comedian and actor Russell Peters will star in the first project of a new $100 million, five-year, 10-picture production deal between Beacon Media and Parmar Entertainment.

Under this groundbreaking partnership, Beacon Media and Parmar Entertainment will primarily focus on developing action and comedy projects with budgets ranging from $10 million to $25 million. Beacon Media will provide full financing for these films while also establishing a seven-figure development fund to support the discovery and nurturing of new projects.

The film featuring Russell Peters will be written by Erik Olsen, who is best known for his work on "Floyd." In addition to writing, Olsen will also produce the film alongside Daljit DJ Parmar, the founder of Parmar Entertainment. The co-founders of Beacon Media, Manoj Narender Madnani and Gurpreet Chandhoke, as well as Navid McIlhargey, will also serve as producers. Beyond the production team, an impressive lineup of executive producers includes Peters himself, Clayton Peters, Paul Canterna, Rolando Zubiran, Luke Beermann, Pratik Tiki Patel, and Ben C. Silverman.

Daljit Parmar expressed excitement about the new partnership, stating, "This new collaboration will enable us to finance high-profile projects that bring much-needed diversity to the Hollywood big screen. It is time to dedicate our focus to develop and finance mainstream projects that have the potential to make a significant impact, much like 'Slumdog Millionaire' and 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' did in their respective times."

Manoj Narender Madnani emphasized the importance of cultural representation in their content, stating, "Beacon Media is devoted to incorporating diverse cultural perspectives into captivating narratives. Through our partnership with Parmar Entertainment, we are fully committed to creating original content that resonates with audiences worldwide, catering to the increasing demand for content that possesses both local and global appeal."

Gurpreet Chandhoke also shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration, adding, "We are thrilled to join forces with Daljit as we share the same vision of using the power of cinema to bridge cultures. Our partnership will aim to create impactful and meaningful content that brings people together."

Parmar Entertainment, led by Daljit Parmar, achieved considerable success with their debut film "Kung Fu Yoga" in 2017, starring the legendary Jackie Chan. The film grossed over $250 million at the global box office. Parmar Entertainment is currently in the process of producing the Indian remake of the iconic action film "Rambo," featuring Tiger Shroff. Beacon Media, co-founded by Deepak Chopra, is concurrently developing a film and TV slate based on Chopra's bestselling books.

Russell Peters, a prolific comedian and actor, is represented by CPI Management, Seven Summits Management, United Talent Agency, and attorney Dale de la Torre. Erik Olsen and Navid McIlhargey are represented by Tifanie Acosta at Entertainment Law Partners.

The collaboration between Beacon Media and Parmar Entertainment holds great promise for the production of diverse, entertaining, and globally resonant films. Movie enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the projects that will emerge from this exceptional partnership in the years to come.
