"The Matthew Perry Foundation is the realization of Matthew's enduring commitment to helping others struggling with the disease of addiction," stated a mission statement released by the foundation. "It will honor his legacy and be guided by his own words and experiences and driven by his passion for making a difference in as many lives as possible."

Matthew Perry passed away from an apparent drowning at his California home on October 28th, at the age of 54. The cause of death was listed as "deferred" following the completion of his autopsy on October 29th, with toxicology results pending. The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner informed Fox News Digital that an official cause of death may take up to three to six months to be released.

On November 3rd, friends and family of Perry gathered to remember the late actor at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, which is in close proximity to the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California - the filming location of the renowned sitcom "Friends" in which Perry gained fame.
