In a recent interview on Live With Kelly and Mark, actor Jason Priestley gave fans a surprising glimpse into his time as roommates with Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt. Sharing anecdotes about their living situation in a run-down part of Los Angeles, Priestley revealed that he and Pitt engaged in a unique contest of endurance: seeing who could go the longest without showering.
According to Priestley, Pitt was a decent roommate compared to their third housemate, who was described as a disaster. Reflecting on their unorthodox competition, Priestley confessed his bewilderment at their past choices, saying, "I think about it now, I'm like 'Dude, how disgusting! What were you thinking?'"
When pressed about who typically emerged victorious in their anti-shower contests, Priestley replied without hesitation, "Brad, always Brad. I don't think he does that anymore, but back then, he could go a long time without showering."
This revelation sheds light on previous discussions about Pitt's personal hygiene throughout his career. In 2009, actor Eli Roth, who worked with Pitt on Inglourious Basterds, shared a quick tip the star gave him for freshening up on set: using baby wipes under the armpits when there wasn't enough time for a proper shower. Roth recalled Pitt's humorous justification, saying, "I got six kids. All you've got to do is just take them, a couple quick wipes under the pits... I'm getting [peed] on all day. I don't have time to take a shower."
In 2013, Pitt himself admitted that he didn't always smell pleasant while filming. Discussing his experience on the set of World War Z, he admitted, "You don't always smell so nice with a thousand extras-me included, by the way-but it's good fun. Really good fun."
However, Pitt seems to have evolved his cleanliness routine since his days as a struggling artist. In 2014, a friend of Jennifer Lawrence, Laura Simpson, attending the Oscars with Lawrence, raved about Pitt's captivating scent on MySpace, claiming that he "smells amazing" and even when asked about the cologne he was wearing, he simply replied, "I don't wear cologne, it's just my musk I guess."
Adding to the praise, Saturday Night Live cast member Chloe Fineman shared in a Tonight Show interview that she had firsthand experience with Pitt's pleasant aroma. After he borrowed one of her wigs to portray Dr. Anthony Fauci on the show, Fineman confidently declared, "He smells great."
While it's clear that Pitt's hygiene habits have evolved over the years, these glimpses into his past shed light on the unique quirks that make him such a beloved and intriguing figure in Hollywood.
