The nominations for the 44th edition of the annual Golden Raspberry Awards, also known as the Razzies, have been unveiled, showcasing the least successful films of the year. Among the contenders, "Expend4bles," the fourth installment in "The Expendables" franchise, emerged as the most-nominated film.

With a total of seven nominations, "Expend4bles" is hoping to claim the notorious distinction of being the worst film of the year. Despite its action-packed nature, the movie received critical disappointment.

Tied for second place with five nominations each are two contrasting films. "The Exorcist: Believer" brought back the classic horror series, while "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey" presented a violent and dark reinterpretation of the beloved honey-loving bear. Both films are vying for the title of worst film of the year.

Additionally, two big-budget superhero movies, DC's "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" and Marvel's "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania," secured four nominations each, making them strong contenders in various categories at the Razzies.

Last year, Andrew Dominik's "Blonde" received eight nominations, ultimately winning the award for worst picture. However, the Razzies had to issue an apology for including then-11-year-old actor Ryan Kiera Armstrong in the category of worst actress for her role in the horror remake "Firestarter." The organization regretted any harm caused and recognized that mistakes can happen, as emphasized by their motto, "Own Your Bad."

In another act of penance, the Razzies also created a special award for Bruce Willis, who had become a frequent Razzie nominee for his performances in numerous direct-to-video action movies. However, after Willis and his family revealed his struggles with aphasia, a language disorder that results in brain damage, the awards group withdrew the "worst performance by Bruce Willis in a 2021 movie" category.

The Golden Raspberry Awards, known for their lighthearted and comical approach to highlighting the worst of the film industry, will soon determine the winners of this year's nominations. As the competition heats up, filmmakers and actors will eagerly await to see who will be crowned with the dubious honor of being named the worst in their respective categories.

Here is the full list of nominations for the 44th Golden Raspberry Awards:

- "Expend4bles" - 7 nominations.
- "The Exorcist: Believer" - 5 nominations.
- "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey" - 5 nominations.
- "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" - 4 nominations.
- "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" - 4 nominations.

The winners will soon be announced, concluding another year of celebrating the less successful side of the film industry.
