In a recent turn of events, comedian Dave Chappelle expressed his disagreement with Katt Williams' widely circulated interview where he insulted several of their comedy peers. Williams' appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast earlier this month caused a stir, garnering significant attention and even being referenced on Saturday Night Live.

During his set at MonDERAYS at the Hollywood Improv on January 19th, hosted by fellow comedian DeRay Davis, Chappelle took a stand against Williams' comments directed towards Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, Cedric the Entertainer, and Steve Harvey. Chappelle, who is known for enforcing a strict no-cellphone policy during his performances, saw segments of his own routine about Williams being circulated on social media.

Expressing his frustration, Chappelle questioned why Williams chose to target their peers, while sparing white comedians from similar critique. He stated, "What part of the game is this? He ethered n**gas. He didn't say anything about any of these white boys. None of these white boys function like that." Chappelle, acknowledging Williams' talent, added, "Katt is one of the best painters in the game. So why are you drawing ugly pictures of us? Stop. Hurt people hurt people, but I am a hurt person that never hurt people, and he does it all the time."

In a mock impersonation of Williams, Chappelle quipped, "'F**k this one, and f**k that one, and f**k this one,'" before rhetorically asking, "but, n**ga, I didn't hear anything that you did wrong. He didn't do nothin' wrong? Katt didn't do nothin' wrong?... Katt was talking about s**t that n**gas did to other n**gas, but not about anything that n**gas did to him."

Chappelle further highlighted his own personal struggles, stating that if he were to share his story, it would "break your heart." He emphasized that despite facing hardships, he never resorted to betraying others, unlike Williams, who Chappelle referred to as the "arbiter of truth."

In questioning why Williams would deliberately call out their fellow comedians, Chappelle pointed out that all of them are striving to improve their situations. He posed the question to DeRay Davis, "What part of the game f**ks up another n**ga's paper? What part of the game is about telling on another n**ga?"

Chappelle's remarks shed light on the negative impact that Williams' viral interview had on the comedy community, raising concerns about the way in which insults and public callouts can harm the unity and mutual respect among comedians.
