The world of "The Boys" is about to get bigger as Amazon announces the development of a Spanish-language spin-off set in Mexico City. According to Variety, this new spin-off will join Amazon's efforts to create local-language adaptations of its popular Prime Video properties, following the success of shows like "Citadel" and "Comicstaan."

If everything goes according to plan, the untitled spin-off will join the expanding universe of "The Boys," which already includes the upcoming series "Gen V" and the animated show "The Boys: Diabolical." Audiences have shown an immense interest in the franchise, with "Gen V" receiving high praise for its unique blend of contemporary teen sex comedies and the trademark ruthless tomfoolery of "The Boys," delivering the ambitious shock-and-awe excellence that fans have come to expect.

"The Boys," the flagship show based on the comic book series of the same name, first premiered in 2019 and has garnered a loyal following ever since. Created by Erik Kripke, the show is set to enter its fourth season, set for release in 2024. Kripke's involvement as an executive producer in the upcoming spin-off suggests that fans can expect the same dark and daring storytelling that they have come to love.

At this early stage, details about the plot of the spin-off remain under wraps. However, fans of "The Boys" can already look forward to delving deeper into this gritty and morally complex world when the Spanish-language spin-off hits screens in the near future.
