ABC's hit comedy series, "Abbott Elementary," has been officially renewed for a fourth season, just days after its highly-anticipated return to television. The news was announced by co-star William Stanford Davis (aka Mr. Johnson) during ABC's time at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour.

The renewal of "Abbott Elementary" comes as a testament to its popularity and success. The show, which earned creator Quinta Brunson an Emmy, has captivated audiences with its comedic portrayal of a Philadelphia-based school through a mockumentary format. Co-produced by Disney's 20th Television and Warner Bros. Television, the series is helmed by co-creators and co-showrunners Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker.

The third season of "Abbott Elementary" made a strong comeback, garnering ratings comparable to its sophomore premiere. The season's first part attracted 2.8 million total viewers and secured a 0.5 rating in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic. The latter part of the season continued the momentum with 2.7 million viewers and the same 0.5 rating. The consistent success of the show further justifies ABC's swift decision to renew it.

Apart from "Abbott Elementary," Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich also announced renewals for other popular shows on ABC. "Celebrity Family Feud," hosted by Steve Harvey, will return for its 10th season. Myeshia Mizuno will take on the role of showrunner and expand her responsibilities, including overseeing ABC's "Judge Steve Harvey." Additionally, two specials, "Family Feud: Decades of Laughs" and "Family Feud: The Best of Steve Harvey," are set to air later this year.

Another fan-favorite show, "Jeopardy Masters," hosted by Ken Jennings, will make a comeback later this spring. The franchise, overseen by Michael Davies for Sony, continues to captivate audiences with its trivia-based format.

The announcement of these renewals showcases the value that "Abbott Elementary" and the other shows bring to ABC. It marks the first renewal for the 2024-25 broadcast season under the leadership of Craig Erwich.

Fans of "Abbott Elementary" and the other beloved ABC shows can now look forward to more laughter and entertainment in the upcoming seasons. With the continuation of these popular series, ABC is set to maintain its stronghold in the network television landscape.
