The 76th Emmy Awards has officially secured its airdate, as announced by the Television Academy and ABC. The prestigious event will take place on Sunday, September 15 at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on ABC, with streaming available on Hulu the following day.

The location for this year's Emmys is set at the Peacock Theater, situated in the heart of downtown Los Angeles at L.A. Live. The host and producers for the telecast, however, are yet to be revealed, with announcements scheduled for a later date.

While the date for the Creative Arts Emmys was not specifically mentioned, traditionally, these ceremonies occur during the weekend preceding the Primetime Emmys. Therefore, it is expected that the Creative Arts Emmys will occur on September 7 and September 8.

The Television Academy had previously disclosed that the nominations for the 76th Emmy Awards would be unveiled on Wednesday, July 17. The eligibility period for consideration in this Emmy cycle spans from June 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024.

This marks the second Emmy ceremony in 2024 due to the impact of the Hollywood strikes, which had pushed the 75th Emmys from September 2023 to January 15, 2024. Although the January ceremony was considered the 2023 Emmys, the ABC telecast in September will be recognized as the official 2024 Emmys.

A notable change for this edition of the Emmys is its scheduling, as it brings back Sunday as the chosen day for the awards show, after two years of being held on Mondays. The last Sunday telecast took place in 2020, during the height of the pandemic, when Jimmy Kimmel hosted a virtual ceremony from the Staples Center. Winners and presenters participated remotely from their homes or other locations.

This year's Emmys also marks ABC's return as the host network, thanks to the current broadcast network deal. ABC last aired the telecast in 2020 before the pandemic disruptions occurred. Previously, the network was responsible for hosting the Emmys in 2016 and 2012, with Jimmy Kimmel as the host.

At the 75th Emmys held last month, acclaimed shows such as "Succession," "The Bear," and "Beef" dominated their respective categories in drama, comedy, and limited series races. "Succession" and "The Bear" tied with six wins each, closely followed by "Beef" with five trophies.

The submissions for the 76th Emmy Awards will commence on Thursday, February 29, offering industry professionals the opportunity to showcase their outstanding work. The Emmys calendar also includes important deadlines for membership applications, entry submissions, nominations-round voting, and the final-round voting process.

The Emmy season is set to culminate on September 15 with the highly-anticipated 76th Emmy Awards telecast, where the most exceptional talent and captivating television productions will be celebrated.
