Joss was 59 years old.

San Antonio police have arrested Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez in connection with the shooting. Alvarez, a neighbor of Joss, has been charged with murder. According to TMZ, the two had past disputes, although the exact nature of these conflicts remains under investigation.

Despite claims circulating online that the incident was a hate crime targeting Joss for his sexual orientation, San Antonio Police have stated that their current investigation has found "no evidence" to support this assertion. Joss' husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, had posted online alleging that the suspect used "violent homophobic slurs" before the shooting occurred. The couple had been married since February, as indicated through social media posts.

The San Antonio Police Department took to social media on Monday night to address these allegations directly. "Despite online claims of this being a hate crime, currently the investigation has found no evidence to indicate that Mr. Joss's murder was related to his sexual orientation," the department wrote. They emphasized that they are taking these allegations seriously and will update the charges if any new evidence comes to light.

In addition to his well-known role in "King of the Hill," Jonathan Joss had a diverse acting portfolio including appearances in films such as "True Grit," "The Magnificent Seven," and "The Forever Purge."
