John Lasell, a seasoned character actor renowned for his memorable roles in classic television series, has died at the age of 95 in Los Angeles. The sad news was announced by his family, confirming that Lasell passed away on October 4.

Lasell made a significant impact on 1960s television, notably through his recurring role in the cult horror soap opera *Dark Shadows*. On the show, he portrayed Dr. Peter Guthrie, a determined vampire hunter in the same series where Jonathan Frid famously played vampire Barnabas Collins. *Dark Shadows* captured the imagination of a teenage audience throughout its four-year run.

In addition to his work on *Dark Shadows*, Lasell left a mark with his role as John Wilkes Booth in a 1961 episode of *The Twilight Zone*. His extensive television career also included performances in the same year's episodes of *Wagon Train* and *Hazel*. He continued this momentum with appearances in a 1962 episode of *Route 66*, a 1964 episode of *Flipper*, and 1966 episodes of *As the World Turns* and *Perry Mason*.

Lasell's television presence extended into the 1970s, where his versatility shone in an episode of *Mission: Impossible* as well as *Night Gallery* and *Mannix* in 1972. He even graced an episode of *Dallas* in 1984, bringing his career nearly full-circle before retiring from the screen with his last credited roles in 1985.
