Stellantis N.V., one of the world's leading automakers, has introduced the STLA Large platform, a highly flexible electric vehicle (EV)-native platform that will serve as the foundation for a diverse range of upcoming vehicles in the D and E segments. With cutting-edge technology and a global launch plan, Stellantis aims to meet the evolving needs of customers in prime markets worldwide.

The STLA Large platform offers unparalleled flexibility with 400-volt and 800-volt battery electric vehicle (BEV) architectures. It can underpin various vehicle types, including cars, crossovers, and SUVs, making it the most versatile platform in the industry. This platform will be utilized by multiple brands within the Stellantis group, with eight vehicle launches scheduled between 2024 and 2026.

Leading the pack of launches will be Dodge and Jeep®, followed by Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, and Maserati. The STLA Large platform is part of Stellantis' Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, which focuses on four global BEV platforms to drive the company's ambitious goals.

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares emphasized the importance of creating a flexible platform that can cover multiple vehicle types and propulsion systems, thus providing a superior experience for customers. The platform's agility and adaptability will be instrumental in Stellantis' electrification strategy in North America.

The STLA Large platform boasts incredible technology flexibility, enabling engineers and designers to make adjustments in dimensions like wheelbase, length, width, height, and ground clearance. This adaptability allows for customization and fine-tuning of vehicle capabilities and performance.

To achieve best-in-class performance across different vehicle types, the platform utilizes advanced high-strength materials, optimizing weight and rigidity. The platform is designed to maximize usable interior space and storage while minimizing energy consumption for components like heating/cooling systems, steering, braking assist, and propulsion.

In terms of propulsion systems, STLA Large stands out as a native BEV platform, offering both 400-volt and 800-volt electric architectures. Additionally, the platform incorporates three-in-one electric drive modules (EDMs) that can be configured for front-wheel-drive, rear-wheel-drive, or all-wheel-drive layouts. These configurations ensure high performance and improved fuel efficiency.

STLA Large also supports hybrid and internal combustion propulsion systems, allowing for a smooth transition to electric propulsion and helping to establish a robust and widely available charging network. Furthermore, the platform provides design flexibility for different engine mounting configurations, supporting various drivetrains.

The STLA Large platform is a key component of Stellantis' electrification strategy, which involves investing over €50 billion in the next decade towards achieving a 100% BEV sales mix in Europe and a 50% BEV sales mix in the United States by 2030. The company plans to launch 48 BEVs by 2024 and aims to become a carbon net zero corporation by 2038.

With the introduction of the STLA Large platform, Stellantis is set to revolutionize the EV market by offering a wide range of vehicles with impressive range, performance, and flexibility. Customers can look forward to experiencing the benefits of electric propulsion combined with Stellantis' iconic brands' distinctive features and characteristics.
