Rockstar Games has recently unveiled the details of the upcoming GTA Online update, scheduled to release on December 12th. While it may not be as extensive as previous updates, it promises to bring exciting new content to end GTAO on a high note for 2023.
One of the major additions to GTA Online is the introduction of a new business - an illicit Salvage Yard. Players will be able to participate in action-packed robberies for Yusuf Amir, a beloved character from GTA IV The Ballad of Gay Tony. Fans are hoping to see Omid Djalili reprise his role as Yusuf. Jamal, Yusuf's cousin, will assist players in planning and executing car robberies for Red's Auto Parts. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to buy this front as a business, enabling them to salvage parts from their own cars or sell the finest pieces back to Yusuf.
Drift Races, a new type of race, will also be introduced in GTA Online. Players will require a specific car modification obtained from the LS Car Meet to participate in the exhilarating Drift Races Series.
Aside from these exciting additions, Rockstar has revealed several features exclusive to different console versions. For current-gen players, wildlife will finally make its way to Freemode, with various animals roaming throughout south San Andreas. Moreover, the new update will introduce The Vinewood Club Garage, a 100-vehicle storage space exclusive to GTA+ members. It will double the previous maximum capacity of 50, allowing players to store an impressive collection at Eclipse Boulevard. The Interaction Menu will also receive a new feature to simplify garage management, enabling players to move vehicles easily within the menu.
The update brings some features and improvements that will be available across multiple platforms, including last-gen consoles (Xbox One and PS4) and PC. Players can expect a newly streamlined Interaction Menu for improved navigation and increased LS Car Meet Reputation points for participating in Pursuit and Street Races. Additionally, a new Specification Service at the LS Car Meet will allow drivers to purchase copies of another player's Personal Vehicle.
While the exact number of vehicles in the update remains unknown, Rockstar has confirmed that the Grotti Turismo Omaggio will be included, along with various liveries for this car and others.
Furthermore, Rockstar has teased that more content is on the horizon for GTA Online this holiday season and beyond. Players can anticipate updates to the creator tools, holiday-themed modes, and general improvements to GTA Online. Additionally, Rockstar Games will be releasing limited-time in-game apparel in celebration of their 25th Anniversary.
