Pokémon Go players seeking advice on building their teams often turn to the community for tips and strategies. Recently, one player posted on Reddit, asking fellow trainers for input on whether it would be worth waiting until a Community Day to evolve a Shadow Pokémon. The response from the Pokémon Go community was clear - evolving Shadow Pokémon on Community Days may not be the best strategy.

Shadow Pokémon possess a distinct advantage over regular Pokémon – they have increased attack power. However, there is one drawback: Shadow Pokémon cannot learn new Charged Moves, except for the move "Frustration." These factors led to a discussion on whether evolving a Shadow Pokémon, specifically a Shadow Dratini in this case, during a Community Day would be beneficial.

Trainers quickly shared their opinions on the matter, advising against waiting for the Community Day to evolve the Shadow Dratini. One trainer mentioned that the Community Day move for Dratini, Draco Meteor, was not particularly powerful. They suggested using a Technical Machine (TM) during the next event to change its move and evolving it whenever desired. Another trainer stated that Draco Meteor was not one of the better Charged Moves for Dragonite in both player versus player (PvP) and player versus environment (PvE) battles, recommending Dragon Claw and Superpower instead.

Community Days in Pokémon Go often offer trainers the opportunity to acquire Legacy Moves for the final evolution stage of certain species. However, in the case of Dratini's Community Day, evolving a Shadow Dratini to obtain Draco Meteor was deemed unnecessary.

So, for trainers facing the same dilemma as the original Reddit poster, the advice is clear – go ahead and evolve that Shadow Dratini without waiting for the Community Day. The benefits of owning a Shadow Dragonite outweigh the potential advantage of having Draco Meteor as its Charged Move.

For trainers looking for more guidance on team-building, there are additional resources available. Guides for Pokémon that excel in the Great and Ultra Leagues, as well as Pokémon with higher Power levels, can be found to assist in creating formidable teams.
