In a disappointing turn of events, the highly anticipated launch of Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play has been delayed indefinitely. Following the Season 1 Reloaded update, which introduced new content and features to Call of Duty, unforeseen issues have plagued the game, leading to the postponement of Ranked Play. The exact launch date for the mode has not been disclosed at this time.

Announcing the delay on Twitter, the Call of Duty Updates account cited a recently discovered critical issue as the reason behind the setback. Teams are diligently working to investigate and resolve the problem in order to release Ranked Play as soon as possible, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for players.

Activision, the publisher of Call of Duty, cautioned avid fans who were eager to dive into Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play immediately after the Season 1 Reloaded update. In an official statement, Activision revealed that the mode would not be immediately available, as the Ranked Play team needs to conduct thorough checks before enabling it for all players. The company encouraged players to stay tuned for further updates regarding the availability of Ranked Play.

There is currently no information regarding the duration of the delay, but players are hopeful that it will not be a prolonged wait. Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play offers gamers the opportunity to progress through skill divisions and ranks in intense four versus four competitive matches, utilizing the same ruleset employed in the Call of Duty League.

According to the Call of Duty blog, Ranked Play becomes accessible once players reach Level 55. All gameplay items are unlocked for use, regardless of previous progress. However, certain weapons, Killstreaks, Equipment, and gameplay content are restricted to align with the competitive rules of the Call of Duty League. Friendly Fire is enabled during Ranked Play matches, adding an additional layer of challenge.

Players begin their Ranked Career at Rank 1 and earn stars to climb the ranks. Ranks are permanent and carry over across seasons. The initial Season starts at Bronze I, and players can advance through eight Skill Divisions and Tiers by earning SR (Skill Rating). SR is awarded based on personal and team performance. In subsequent seasons, players will be dropped back three Tiers.

The highest Skill Division players can start a new season in is Diamond I. However, it's important to note that penalties such as SR deductions can be incurred for inactivity, disconnections, and repeated friendly fire incidents. Achieving three consecutive wins grants a flaming rank, and players can further progress the flaming rank by continued victories. The flaming effects expire after a loss or 72 hours.

Ranked Play features specific maps and modes that cater to the competitive environment. CDL Search & Destroy includes maps like Highrise, Invasion, Karachi, Skidrow, and Terminal, offering intense no-respawn gameplay with a strict round timer and Friendly Fire enabled. CDL Hardpoint, on the other hand, incorporates maps like Invasion, Karachi, Skidrow, Sub Base, and Terminal, challenging players to control rotating objectives within a time limit. Finally, CDL Control tests teams with limited lives and a win limit across maps like Highrise, Invasion, and Karachi.

As players patiently await the resolution of the critical issue, the Call of Duty community remains hopeful that the delay will be brief, allowing them to dive into Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play and showcase their skills on the battlefield.
