In an effort to stay at the forefront of innovation, Microsoft is reportedly gearing up to release the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 with advanced AI capabilities. According to unnamed sources cited by Windows Central, the upcoming devices will be equipped with a cutting-edge neural processing unit (NPU), along with options for Intel and Arm-based processors.
For its Arm-based devices, Microsoft has partnered with Qualcomm to incorporate their new Snapdragon X chips, codenamed CADMUS. These PCs are said to be designed to optimize the AI features that Microsoft plans to integrate into a future version of Windows. Additionally, they are expected to deliver enhanced performance, longer battery life, and heightened security, comparable to Apple silicon.
The Surface Pro 10 is rumored to boast a brighter display with support for HDR and an anti-glare coating. Users will have the choice between resolutions of 2160 x 1440 or 2880 x 1920. Notably, the device may feature rounded corners, similar to the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio lineup. A new Type Cover with a dedicated Windows Copilot button is also expected to be offered.
On the other hand, the Surface Laptop 6, available in smaller and larger models, is reported to sport a slightly larger 13.8-inch display, replacing the 13.5-inch display seen in its predecessor, the Surface Laptop 5. The 15-inch model, however, will remain unchanged in size. Both models are likely to showcase a rounded display with slimmer bezels. Expect to find an array of new ports, including two for USB-C, one for USB-A, and one for Surface Connect charging. Additional rumored features include a haptic touchpad and a keyboard button dedicated to Windows Copilot.
While Microsoft aficionados may anticipate the release of the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 next year, Windows Central reports that an even more significant design change for the Surface Pro line is expected in 2025. Furthermore, a refreshed Surface Laptop Studio is also said to be on the horizon.
As Microsoft continues to explore the possibilities of AI and strive to provide enhanced user experiences, these upcoming releases showcase the company's commitment to innovation and performance. Stay tuned for further updates on the Surface Pro 10, Surface Laptop 6, and Microsoft's roadmap for the future.
