Last year, Google unveiled its revamped Weather app, introducing a fresh design and a new set of icons to depict weather conditions. While the updated look was initially limited to the app itself on Pixel phones, it appears that these redesigned icons are now making their way to homescreen widgets.

Users have recently reported that the updated icon style from the Google Weather app is appearing in weather widgets on their homescreen. The widgets, powered by the Google app, as well as the At a Glance widget integrated into the Pixel Launcher, now showcase the new icon design. Additionally, the rearranged icons have even been spotted in the alternative version of the At a Glance widget available via the widget picker.

Although the rollout of the updated style seems to be limited at the moment, only observed by a handful of users, it brings a distinct visual enhancement. The new icons introduce a slight 3D element, adding texture to the previously flat design.

It remains uncertain whether Google plans to introduce this new style widely in the near future through an app or server-side update, or if it is simply being tested as a limited feature. Regardless, users are encouraged to provide feedback on their devices if they spot the new icon design, including uploading screenshots to showcase the changes.

Google's Weather app has garnered praise for its new design language, and the integration of its updated icons into homescreen widgets further enhances the overall user experience. As the company continues to refine its apps and services, users can look forward to more visually appealing and informative features in the future.
