A groundbreaking glitch known as the "Fireball Meter Glitch" has been unearthed in Street Fighter 6, causing a stir among the gaming community. This glitch empowers characters to indefinitely postpone Burnout by utilizing the last bit of their Drive Gauge for actions that typically consume it.
Already recognized as a game-breaking exploit, the Fireball Meter Glitch has been successfully replicated by several fighters, including JP, Dhalsim, Blanka, A.K.I., and Guile. Capcom is now under immense pressure to address this issue promptly through an upcoming update.
To trigger the sequence, players must precisely expend Drive Gauge at the same frame as landing an attack. Currently, only setups involving projectiles have been identified for exploiting this glitch.
For instance, JP's Overdrive Departure (which creates a "void tear" on the screen) can be executed simultaneously with his fireball hitting the opponent, resulting in the retention of sufficient Drive Gauge to evade Burnout. Alternatively, JP can also execute the Overdrive fireball as Departure connects with the opponent to achieve the same effect.
This glitch is not limited to Overdrive specials alone. It has been discovered that a Drive Rush can be executed when a projectile connects with the opponent as well.
HDG| Pochoclo23 demonstrated a sequence with Guile, where Guile successfully times his Drive Rush just as the Sonic Boom connects with the adversary, thereby obtaining free pressure.
For this exploit to function, a character must possess a smaller Drive Gauge than the cost of the action they intend to perform. Precise timing between connecting an attack and expending Drive Gauge is critical.
Under normal circumstances, attempting to consume more Drive Gauge than available results in Burnout. The action is still executed, but the rest of the meter is spent.
Ordinarily, each attack that connects with an opponent (excluding Drive Gauge-consuming moves) increases the Drive Gauge slightly. This mechanism is intended to reward offensive play in Street Fighter 6.
However, when the Fireball Meter Glitch is triggered, a character is effectively resetting their Drive Gauge to zero, subsequently regenerating a small amount even though they technically should have a negative Drive Gauge.
By continuously duplicating this setup, a player can exploit an infinite amount of Drive Gauge without ever triggering Burnout.
Reports suggest that JP, while possessing less than two drive meters, can flawlessly initiate an OD move precisely when a Portal activates, effectively circumventing Burnout.
