Detroit - Cadillac, the luxury brand of General Motors, has announced its plans to introduce the Vistiq, a three-row all-electric SUV, to complete its upcoming lineup of electric vehicles (EVs). The Vistiq will serve as a replacement for the current gas-powered XT6 model.
Images of the Vistiq were released by Cadillac on Thursday, providing a glimpse into what the future holds for the brand's EV offerings. Positioned between the already revealed Lyriq and the upcoming Escalade IQ, the Vistiq is expected to be Cadillac's fifth EV.
While certain details regarding pricing and availability were not disclosed by Cadillac, the company confirmed that the Vistiq is scheduled to go on sale in the United States in 2025, likely as a 2026 model.
John Roth, Vice President of Cadillac, expressed his excitement about the expanding EV lineup, stating, "Our brand now has an EV entry in most luxury segments, offering customers a range of choices, and Cadillac EVs will cover most luxury SUV segments across critical global markets in the next two years."
With the introduction of the Vistiq, Cadillac's forthcoming EV lineup will mirror its current lineup of vehicles powered by internal combustion engines, except for the extended ESV version of the popular Escalade.
The company has high hopes for its electric SUVs, including the Optiq, Lyriq, Vistiq, and Escalade IQ, which are expected to gradually replace their gas-engine counterparts by 2030 as Cadillac aims to become an exclusively electric brand.
However, Cadillac has not yet provided information on the electric replacements for its current CT4 and CT5 sedans, creating anticipation among enthusiasts as to how the brand will expand its EV offerings beyond the SUV segment.
In addition to its SUV lineup, Cadillac is also developing the Celestiq hatchback, a bespoke luxury vehicle anticipated to carry a hefty price tag of over $300,000.
As the automotive industry continues its shift towards electric mobility, Cadillac's commitment to expanding its EV lineup demonstrates the brand's determination to stay at the forefront of luxury electric vehicles. Auto enthusiasts and consumers alike eagerly await further details and announcements from Cadillac regarding their future EV offerings.
