In an exciting development for Apple enthusiasts, a prominent analyst has revealed that the tech giant's 2024 iPad updates will feature a brand new model of the iPad Air. According to TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is set to release not one, but two iPad Air models in the first quarter of 2024, with one of them boasting a larger 12.9-inch display.

While the iPad mini and iPad Pro have been stealing the limelight in recent rumors, the iPad Air has been somewhat overlooked. However, Kuo's report sheds light on Apple's plans to revamp this underrated device. The upcoming iPad Air models are expected to enter mass production in early 2024, with a 10.9-inch variant joining the lineup alongside the much-anticipated 12.9-inch version.

Interestingly, the larger iPad Air will not feature the mini-LED technology of its iPad Pro counterpart. However, it is said to benefit from the same-spec Oxide backplane, promising enhanced performance and display quality. This echoes previous reports from October that hinted at a larger iPad Air size.

In addition to the iPad Air updates, Kuo's report also shares insights into the iPad Pro lineup. It suggests that two OLED iPad Pro models will replace the current mini-LED versions in either late Q1 or Q2 of 2024. These new models are said to come with revamped form factor designs, an M3 processor, and an OLED panel adopting a Tandem design with LTPO backplanes.

However, the mass production of the OLED iPad Pro models will experience a delay, moving from early Q1 to Q1 or Q2 due to issues with the OLED panel.

Kuo does, however, caution that if the price of the 10.9-inch iPad Air remains unchanged and the 12.9-inch variant is indeed priced higher, Apple might need to increase the price of the OLED iPad Pro models to maintain a price gap between the different ranges.

On the more affordable side, Kuo predicts that mass production of the new iPad mini will be delayed until the second half of 2024, contrary to earlier estimates of a Q1 release. The 11th generation iPad is also slated for mass production in the second half of the year.

As for the ninth-gen iPad, Kuo suggests its production will come to an end before the close of 2024, hinting at a potential discontinuation of the device.

These latest rumors have sparked excitement among Apple enthusiasts, as they eagerly await the unveiling of the new iPad lineup in 2024. With refreshed designs, improved technology, and a range of sizes, Apple continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering innovative and cutting-edge devices to its loyal customer base.
