In the latest projected NCAA Tournament bracket by Jerry Palm, the Wildcats have slipped to a No. 2 seed after a loss to Washington State. This loss has propelled North Carolina to claim the fourth No. 1 seed position in the West Regional, joining Purdue, UConn, and Houston as the top seeds revealed by the selection committee last Saturday.

Comparing Arizona and UNC's resumes, North Carolina holds a slight edge with better wins in Quad 1 and Quad 2 categories. The Wildcats have been hindered by the quality of their league, with most of their Quad 3 wins coming from Pac-12 games. Despite the ACC not meeting its usual standards, their teams reside mostly in Quad 2.

The battle for the fourth No. 1 seed is still ongoing, with Purdue, UConn, and Houston needing to overcome losses before being considered for the top spot. Purdue, in particular, faces a challenging path as they hold neutral court wins over three of the current No. 2 seeds.

The gap between the top three seeds and the potential fourth seed has widened, making the competition for the final slot even more intense. With uncertainties still lingering, teams continue to fight for positioning as the NCAA Tournament approaches.
