In an intense race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, Tyler Reddick secured second place in NASCAR's third race of the 2024 season, finishing just 0.441 seconds behind the winner, Kyle Larson. Despite a valiant effort, Reddick was unable to catch up to Larson in the closing moments of the Pennzoil 400.

Reddick expressed frustration with the outcome and believed that the pit stops played a significant role in his inability to overtake Larson. "Every time I kind of got close... He defended pretty well," Reddick commented on Larson's defensive driving. "It's frustrating. I feel like we were never up front really all day long until it got to the stage ends. Yeah, we had a really good car, just stupid mistakes on pit road. Same s---, different year. It gets kind of frustrating. We'll continue to work on it."

Throughout the race, Reddick encountered multiple issues on pit road, including a 13-second stop on Lap 211 and sliding too far in his pit box after the first stage. As a result, he went from second place at the end of Stage 1 to 16th place at the start of Stage 2. However, Reddick showcased his determination by making a comeback and finishing second in Stage 2.

Reflecting on the race, Reddick acknowledged that finishing in second place was disappointing, but he lauded the performance of his Nasty Beast Toyota Camry. "Second sucks, that's for sure, but we had a really fast car. We should have been up there battling even more than we were throughout the day; just put us behind, unfortunately," Reddick said. "You have to run up front all day long, and when asked about what we need to do to get better, that's the very thing, and didn't do it today."

Reddick, who has five NASCAR Cup Series wins in his career, last found victory at Kansas last season. Looking ahead, the next race on the Cup Series calendar is set to take place at Phoenix Raceway. Reddick finished in third place in the spring race last season and 22nd in the fall race, indicating his familiarity with the track.

As Reddick continues his pursuit of success, he remains determined to rectify the pit stop issues and consistently maintain a front-running position throughout the race.
