Two top quarterback prospects, Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels, have made the decision to not participate in the throwing session at the Indianapolis combine. Instead, they plan to attend the event for interviews and physicals, saving their throwing sessions for their schools' pro days.

Williams, the presumptive top quarterback prospect of the draft, is expected to go before other quarterbacks, giving him little to gain from the combine throwing session. On the other hand, Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, is also passing on head-to-head competition and will showcase his skills at LSU's pro day.

Despite the absence of Williams and Daniels from the throwing session, multiple possible first-round quarterbacks like Michael Penix Jr., Bo Nix, J.J. McCarthy, and Spencer Rattler have confirmed they will be throwing at the combine. The only other likely first-rounder with an unknown decision is North Carolina's Drake Maye.

While the decision not to throw at the combine does not determine a team's choice in selecting a quarterback, Saturday's on-field quarterback drills are still anticipated to be interesting as several potential first-rounders gear up for the event. Many are eager to see how the dynamics of the quarterback draft class unfold leading up to the NFL draft.
