The Philadelphia Phillies have set their pitching plans for the beginning of Grapefruit League play. Left-hander Kolby Allard is scheduled to start on Saturday against the Blue Jays, with Aaron Nola taking the mound on Sunday in the spring home opener against the Yankees. Both pitchers are expected to pitch two innings in their respective starts.
David Buchanan is set to start on Monday, followed by Cristopher Sanchez taking the mound on Tuesday as the Phillies face off against the Red Sox and Twins in Fort Myers, located 140 miles from Clearwater. Sanchez, who had a limited spring training last year due to triceps soreness, enters this year's camp healthy and confident with a solidified spot in the rotation.
In injury updates, it was noted that Alec Bohm will be sidelined until at least one of the Fort Myers games due to neck spasms. Additionally, third-string catcher Rafael Marchan is dealing with a lower back injury, prompting the team to shut him down as a precaution in order to allow for the issue to be addressed.
