In Boston, the New England Patriots are preparing to bid farewell to veteran tackle Trent Brown as his contract is due to void on Monday. Brown's second stint with the team is coming to an end after the Patriots decided not to extend his contract, as reported by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Brown, who is 30 years old, rejoined the Patriots in March 2021 in a trade with the Raiders. He previously played for the Patriots in the 2018 season, contributing to the team's Super Bowl victory. After a lucrative free-agent deal with the Raiders, Brown found himself back in New England just two years later.

In the 2022 season, Brown was limited by injuries to nine games but had a more active role in the following season, playing in 11 games and starting eight of them. Despite this, he only took part in 55 percent of the team's offensive snaps.

The Patriots will now be looking to reinforce the left tackle position in the upcoming offseason after relying on a rotation that included Brown, Conor McDermott, and Vederian Lowe in the previous season. Brown is set to become an unrestricted free agent next month, and it is uncertain whether he will sign another deal with the Patriots.

With a turbulent 2023 season behind him, Brown's tenure with the New England Patriots appears to be ending, marking the conclusion of an eventful chapter in his NFL career.
