General Manager Barry Trotz confirmed the acquisition today, revealing that Allison was obtained from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for forward Denis Gurianov.

Wade Allison, a 26-year-old forward born on October 14, 1997, had an impressive season with the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms in 2023-24, notching 10 goals and 17 points in 46 games. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 205 pounds, Allison made his NHL debut on April 15, 2021, against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Since then, he has accumulated 75 games of NHL experience, all with the Philadelphia Flyers.

The talented forward spent the entire 2022-23 season with the Flyers, contributing 15 points, including 9 goals and 6 assists, in 60 games. Allison's journey in professional hockey began when he was drafted by Philadelphia in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft, as the 52nd overall pick. Prior to his time in the AHL, Allison honed his skills at Western Michigan University from 2016-20, where he recorded an impressive 97 points (45 goals and 52 assists) in 106 games for the Broncos.

During his university career, Allison was honored as an alternate captain during his final two seasons. In the 2017-18 season, he received an honorable mention for the NCHC's All-Star Team, showcasing his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport. Additionally, Allison's earlier accomplishments include winning the USHL's Clark Cup and being named the postseason MVP with Tri-City in 2015-16.
