In a surprising turn of events, Missouri defensive end Darius Robinson has voiced his discontent with the setup at the NFL scouting combine after his underwhelming performance in the bench press session. Robinson, who tied for eighth among EDGE rushers with 21 reps, fell short by 10 reps compared to Florida State's Jared Verse.

Expressing his frustration on social media, Robinson took issue with the accuracy and fairness of the bench press setup. He criticized the unevenness of the rack and bar with the J-Hooks, and the fact that the bench itself moved due to the carpeted floor. Determined to prove himself, Robinson announced that he intends to re-attempt the bench press at his pro day on March 22nd.

Robinson's criticism adds to the growing discontent among prospective players towards the NFL's combine setup. Just days ago, NFL players expressed their dissatisfaction with the league's conditions through the second-annual NFLPA report cards. Now, it seems that even aspiring players are highlighting concerns about the combine's infrastructure.

Despite his disappointment at the combine, Robinson remains a highly regarded prospect for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. He is projected to be a late first-round or early Day 2 selection. In his final season with the Tigers, Robinson showcased his skills by achieving career-high statistics in tackles (43), tackles for loss (14), and sacks (8.5) across 12 games.

As the NFL takes note of players' feedback and evaluations from the combine, it remains to be seen how they will address the concerns raised by Robinson and others. The focus now shifts to Robinson's pro day, where he looks to demonstrate his true strength and potential to NFL scouts.
