In a surprising turn of events, the Las Vegas Raiders have expressed interest in trading up for the Tennessee Titans' No. 7 pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL draft. The news comes after Titans general manager Ran Carthon revealed that no teams had reached out to inquire about their first-round selection.

According to The Athletic's Vic Tafur and Tashan Reed, the Raiders have begun exploring the possibility of a trade with multiple teams, including the Los Angeles Chargers (No. 5 pick) and the New York Giants (No. 6 pick). It remains unclear to what extent they have pursued these discussions.

The Raiders' interest in moving up to acquire a higher pick suggests they may have their sights set on a specific player, potentially Michigan's standout quarterback, J.J. McCarthy. While the exact details of the potential trade remain undisclosed, it is believed that the Raiders are positioning themselves to make further moves or secure a player at another premium position.

Despite the Raiders' interest, it remains uncertain if the Titans would be willing to part ways with their No. 7 pick. If young prospects such as Joe Alt, Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze, or Marvin Harrison Jr. are still available, it is unlikely that Tennessee would consider trading back. However, if all four players are off the board, the Titans may seriously entertain the idea in order to secure additional draft assets.

A potential trade scenario between the Raiders and the Titans could benefit both teams. The Raiders would have the opportunity to move up and potentially select their desired prospect, while the Titans would acquire at least an extra Day 2 pick, bolstering their draft capital.

With the No. 13 overall pick, the Titans could still target Penn State's talented lineman, Olu Fashanu, to address their needs on the offensive side of the ball.

As talks between the Raiders and the Titans progress, football fans eagerly await the outcome of these negotiations and the potential impact they could have on this year's NFL draft.
