In Saturday morning's IndyCar practice session, Colton Herta of Andretti Global took the lead with a stunning performance behind the wheel of his No. 26 Honda. Herta's exceptional lap time of 1m.00.1331s put him well ahead of his competitors and showcased his skills on the track.

Team Penske's Josef Newgarden in the No. 2 Chevy put up a good fight, trailing behind Herta by 0.2541s. Meanwhile, Will Power, also from Team Penske, secured the third spot with his No. 12 Chevy, but lagged behind by 0.2770s.

Herta expressed his satisfaction with his car's performance in the practice session. He stated, "The car's been good so far. I felt good that session and we got two really decent runs. Good to feel the car in that environment before qualifying." Herta's confidence and positive feedback suggest a promising outlook for his upcoming races.

The Chevy brigade followed closely, with Pato O'Ward from Arrow McLaren placing fourth, Romain Grosjean from Juncos Hollinger Racing securing fifth place, and Rinus VeeKay from Ed Carpenter Racing finishing in sixth position.

Kyle Kirkwood, another driver from Andretti, showcased his potential by setting the fourth-fastest lap time in the session. However, his moment of glory was short-lived as he unfortunately made contact with the wall, resulting in damage to the right-side suspension. Kirkwood promptly brought his car to pit lane, where the bend components were changed. Despite his setback, Kirkwood managed to retain his position in the top seven by the end of the hour-long practice session.

With Herta's impressive lap time, it is evident that Andretti Global and the No. 26 Honda have a strong contender for qualifying. The team and Herta will be looking to carry this momentum forward as they prepare for their next race.

The IndyCar fans eagerly await the upcoming qualifying session, where these talented drivers will push their cars to the limit in the quest for pole position.
