According to final same-day ratings from Nielsen, the final episodes of Young Sheldon captivated a large crowd of viewers, marking the end of its successful seven-season run. The series finale, aired on Thursday night, garnered an impressive 9.32 million viewers, making it the biggest same-day audience for the show in four years, since its third season finale in April 2020.

The conclusion of Young Sheldon was presented in a pair of episodes, with the first episode at 8 p.m. ET/PT drawing almost the same number of viewers, with 9.15 million viewers. These two episodes, both adjusting up from Nielsen's preliminary figures, ranked second and third in same-day viewers among all scripted series this season, outranked only by the post-Super Bowl premiere of Tracker.

Not only did the show achieve impressive viewership numbers, but it also recorded its two highest ratings of the season among adults aged 18-49. The first episode scored a 0.71 rating, equivalent to 937,000 viewers in that demographic, while the finale garnered a 0.76 rating, approximately 1.01 million viewers in the same demographic.

Before the finale, Young Sheldon had been averaging 7.03 million same-day viewers this season, cementing its position as the most-watched network comedy for the fifth consecutive season. However, Thursday's episodes surpassed expectations by finishing 30% and 32% above the same-day average.

The success of Young Sheldon adds yet another achievement to CBS's ongoing 19-year streak of airing the most-watched comedy of the season. The streak began with the final season of Everybody Loves Raymond in 2004-05 and continued with Two and a Half Men and Young Sheldon's predecessor, The Big Bang Theory. All three shows are executive produced by Chuck Lorre.

Following Young Sheldon, the top show among total viewers on CBS was the finale of So Help Me Todd, which attracted 4.4 million viewers. On ABC, 911 had the highest rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, scoring a 0.44 rating with 580,000 viewers.

The final same-day ratings figures from Thursday emphasize the tremendous success and enduring popularity of Young Sheldon. With its large following and record-breaking viewership, the show has undoubtedly left an indelible mark in the hearts of its fans.
