In a tragic incident on Sunday night, a wrong-way driver was involved in two separate crashes in West Chester, Ohio, resulting in the loss of three lives, including the driver. According to West Chester Township spokesperson Barb Wilson, the driver has been identified as Gregory Meyer, a 65-year-old resident of Middletown.

Multiple 911 callers reported a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on Cox Road shortly after 6:15 p.m. Witnesses described Meyer as driving erratically, causing concern among those on the road. Despite these reports, he managed to collide with another vehicle near the Voice of America shopping center, fortunately causing no injuries.

However, Meyer's reckless journey took a devastating turn when he crashed into a car near Service Center Drive, claiming the lives of Nicole Collins, 52, and Patrick Pelton, 52, both residents of Liberty Township. The Butler County Coroner's Office determined that Collins succumbed to multiple traumatic injuries, while Pelton's cause of death was a chest injury. Meyer himself ultimately passed away due to a compression injury.

The aftermath of the collision revealed the severity of the incident, with one officer describing the vehicle near Service Center Drive as torn in half. Tragically, both Collins and Pelton lost their lives at the scene. The wrong-way driver, Meyer, also succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities from the Butler County Coroner's Office and West Chester police are now working together to investigate the crash. The circumstances leading up to Meyer's decision to drive in the wrong direction and his erratic behavior on the road are being examined to determine any contributing factors.
