Lauren Ashley Martin, 34, lost her life after being shot multiple times outside a residence in Sanford on Tuesday, November 5, according to the Sanford Police Department. Officers have arrested 35-year-old Savon Chantay Tyler, charging her with murder in connection to the tragic event.
Authorities have also pressed charges against Lakevia Davonna Pringle, accusing her of livestreaming the deadly altercation on social media. The confrontation reportedly stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Tyler and Martin over photographs, as stated by Martin's family to WESH. The victim's aunt mentioned that inflammatory comments were posted online, leading to an escalation that ultimately resulted in violence.
Hours before the fatal incident, Martin had posted a video on her Facebook page, expressing her intention to go to Sanford and confront someone. Upon arriving at Tyler's home, a verbal exchange turned physically violent. According to an affidavit cited by The Miami Herald, Pringle, who is identified as Tyler's girlfriend, recorded the confrontation live on Facebook. The video allegedly shows Tyler emerging with a gun and a child's baseball bat, initially placing the gun on the ground.
As the situation intensified, Martin reportedly seized the bat, prompting Tyler to pick up the gun and shoot Martin. Police indicate that Pringle encouraged Tyler to continue the altercation, which led to Martin's death.
In response to the tragic loss, Martin's family organized a GoFundMe campaign to support her three children and cover funeral costs. The family described her as "affectionately known as 'Bubbles,'" lamenting her sudden passing as a devastating blow.
Currently, Tyler is being held without bond on a charge of premeditated murder. Court records reveal that she has entered a plea of not guilty. Meanwhile, a warrant has been issued for Pringle's arrest on charges of principle in the first degree to first-degree premeditated homicide.
Investigators are urging anyone with information about the crime or Pringle's whereabouts to contact the Sanford Police Department or Crimeline.
